Present: Sara Graham (Chair), Derek Sangston, Victoria Newlin, Kathy McCabe, Eric Braun, Gordon Price

Absent: Lydia Hernandez, Jim Knox

1. Commencement

    1. Derek Sangston has been selected as commencement speaker
    2. Distinguished Student Service Award

i. “Student who contributes outstanding service to the institution during the academic year.”
ii. The student does not have to be a graduate
iii. Eric Braun will post message to Staff Commlines for nominations

  1. Student Needs Survey
    1. Survey determined top three needs: Finances, Technology and Parking
    2. Eric Braun will create a follow-up survey to get more focused data
    3. Once data analyzed, then committee will develop recommendations set
  2. Year-End Evaluation
    1. To be facilitated at last meeting – June 5th
    2. Future direction for 2007-2008 committee
  3. Smoking on Campus
    1. Policy permits smoking only in campus parking lots
    2. Signage and receptacles send mixed message to smokers
    3. Sara Graham will ask David Triggs to develop a policy, plan and enforcement practices to send back to the committee
    4. Might consider smoke-free campus policy
