COCC has one on-campus residence hall, Juniper Hall. Juniper Hall provides safe, comfortable and affordable housing to more than 100 male and female students, living in two wings joined by a common recreational and social area. The rooms are furnished and house two or three students.
Juniper Hall is the perfect place to build lifelong friendships. Residence hall living makes it easy to get involved in activities with peers who share similar interests.
COCC is committed to providing a positive learning environment for our students and as such, the following requirements are in place for students wishing to live in Juniper Residence Hall:
Student Eligibility Requirements
In order to move into Juniper Residence Hall, students must:
· Have a 2.0 high school cumulative GPA, verified with official high school transcript. High school transcript must be submitted with the full housing contract.
· Register for a minimum of 12 credits COCC/OSU-Cascades credits no later than August 31, 2008.
· Register for a COCC one credit student success class, the cost of which will be paid by COCC and the student housing coordinator. Students may choose from any of the Career/Life Planning, Human Development or Study Skills classes (see www.cocc.edu and click on “Credit Class Schedule”).
· Participate in the Juniper Hall opening weekend orientation on September 20-21, 2008.
· Attend an individual meeting with housing staff during the first two weeks of fall term.
· Meet with the COCC financial aid advisor prior to coming to campus if using financial aid to pay for any portion of room and board fees.
Student Success Academic Requirements
In order to continue living in Juniper Hall, students must:
· Be in good academic standing, as defined in COCC’s Academic Warning Policy (2.0 minimum GPA each term). If a student earns below a 2.0 GPA or fewer than eight credits in their first term, they will be required to attend study tables or register for the three credit study skills class the following term (the course is to be paid for by the student). If a student earns below a 2.0 GPA or fewer than eight (8) credits for both fall and winter terms they will be evicted for the spring term. If a student earns a 0.0 GPA in any term, they will be evicted prior to the start the following term.
· Register for future terms prior to finals week of the current term. If a student is not registered prior to finals week before a term break, the student will be required to move out of the residence hall prior to leaving for the term break.
· Register for a minimum of twelve (12) COCC/OSU-Cascades credits per term.
